Microsoft Surface Laptop review: a productive and pleasant laptop
Recently, Microsoft has expanded its line of laptops with a new model – Microsoft Surface Laptop. The $1,300 (85,250 rubles) version I got for review is equipped with an Intel Core i5-7200U processor, 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD.
Microsoft is positioning the Surface Laptop as a laptop for schoolchildren and students, as well as for office work. Let’s see what features the device offers and whether it is worth considering buying.
Microsoft Surface Laptop Design
The Surface Laptop is available in four color options – burgundy, platinum, cobalt blue (the color of the reviewed model) and graphite gold. The all-metal body feels solid and has slightly rounded edges. Build quality at the highest level.
The area around the keyboard and between the keys is covered with Alcantara, which gives the device a nice touch and attractive appearance. The Dell XPS 13 takes a similar approach to coating, only carbon fiber is used instead of Alcantara. I love this trend as it makes opening the laptop much easier and more fun to use.
The case measures 308.1×223.27×14.48mm and weighs 1.25kg. In https://jiji.ng/cars/mercedes_benz-m-class-2008 general, the case here is not the most practical, but it is definitely one of the most stylish.
Connectors and ports
Microsoft Surface Laptop is not a small laptop, however, it has a minimal set of connections. There is one USB 3.0 port, mini DisplayPort and a 3.5 headphone jack. Wireless options include Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0.
There is a 720p webcam above the display with facial recognition via Windows Hello.
